Nomi Epstein

Nomi Epstein is active as a composer, concert organizer, and music educator. She has earned degrees from Columbia University (B.A.), New England Conservatory (M.M.), and Northwestern University (Doctorate of Music). Past commissions have come from the New England Conservatory Percussion Ensemble (This Too Shall Pass premiered in April 2006 at Jordon Hall in Boston) and the internationally renowned guitarist Seth Josel (Blueprint premiered in June 2006 in Great Barrington, MA).

In April 2008, Epstein was invited for a residency as an Associate Artist at the Atlantic Center for the Arts. Her works have been performed at various venues in Boston, North Adams, New York, New Haven, Chicago, Oberlin, Cincinnati, Huddersfield, UK, Ostrava, Czech Republic, and Paris, France. Epstein has taught as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Northwestern University, and in 2008 will begin lecturing at Roosevelt University.

She is a founding teacher of piano and theory at the British Music School of Chicago, as well as a private piano teacher to children ranging from 4-14 years of age.
