Miss. N Boon

I spent my early childhood and teenage years growing-up in the sunny county of Essex, England. My passion for education saw me travel St Martin's College, Cumbria where I studied for a BA (hons) in Primary Education, specialising in The Advance Study of Early Years Education. This degree enabled me to develop an in-depth understanding of children, gave me a great insight of how schools function and an essential awareness of the role that teachers play in the wider community. It was whilst studying for this degree and completing the 'International Perspectives' unit that I realised my excitement and enthusiasm for inevitably teaching in a different country.
My teaching experiences have led me to teach in various types of schools within Cumbria, The Isle of Man, East London and Essex. I have been a Foundation Stage teacher for the past two years, teaching reception aged children at a school in Tilbury, Essex. The diverse experiences I have had have helped me to develop into a creative and highly motivated teacher, who values children as individuals and enjoys being part of such a rewarding profession.
This is my first year at the British School of Chicago and it is one that I am greatly looking forward to. Chicago is proving to such a great city and I am proud to call it my home. Here's to a great year of learning with the Snazzy Snails.
