I was born in Newcastle in the North East of England and studied for a BA (Hons) in Business before completing my PGCE at the University of Hull in Yorkshire. I then decided to move back to the North East and have taught there for the last six years.
I have taught a range of subjects including Business and ICT, and have just completed a Graduate Diploma in Psychology, which will allow me to teach Psychology. During my time at my present school I been involved in the Young Enterprise Scheme and have organised and led a range of educational visits to a variety of places, such as Madrid and Barcelona. I really hope to get involved with extra curricular activities at the British School of Chicago as I feel that it is really important to work with and get to know students outside of the classroom.
My educational philosophy is to not only to educate students to pass exams but also to provide them with the skills and qualities to help them lead a successful and fulfilling life.
I am very excited about moving to Chicago and meeting the students I will be teaching.
