I had an active upbringing in a small town in Lincolnshire, before moving to Cheshire to fulfil my aspiration to become a teacher. I attended University in Manchester where I studied for my degree.

My first appointment was at a small village school in Cheshire, where I taught a mixed year 3-4 class. Following an enjoyable 3 years I moved to my present school in Werrington, Staffordshire where I have been now for 5 years teaching classes of Year 3 and Year 5 children.

Both in and out of school I have a natural interest in Information Technology and during my time in my present school I was appointed as ICT manager. While at my current school I had the opportunity to become an Acting Deputy Headteacher for 18 months, which gave me an excellent insight into the strategic issues associated with running a school. Following this appointment I am currently the Pupil Well-Being Manager.

I have various interests, most of these involve sports. Currently I play soccer, cricket and golf on a regular basis. I enjoy watching most sports and I’m looking forward to the live sports Chicago has to offer, especially the Chicago Bears who I have been a fan of since I was young.

I am extremely excited to have been given the opportunity to live and work in Chicago and I’m looking forward to meeting the children, parents and staff.
