Scott Scharf (guitar tutor) is a composer/guitarist who focuses on the creation, promotion and education of new music.
As a composer, Scott’s pieces offer a variety of instrumentation for chamber music including electronic-acoustic works that have had several performances and recordings. Though focused on composition, Scott studied classical guitar as an undergraduate and continues to play. Scott has experience teaching counterpoint at the collegiate level at San Francisco State University and guitar privately.
Having worked for other organizations, the Cypress String Quartet and California Summer Music Program, Scott has had professional experience in the music education and business world as well. Much of the work was organizing and promoting the services of each association. Currently, he is matriculated in the Doctoral program in Composition at Northwestern University.
