Mr. A Gilhooly

I was born in England and specialized in physics, chemistry and mathematics in school. I attended Warwick University and gained a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
I have always been interested in physical activity and whilst in school I participated in football, tennis, squash and rock climbing and I continued this interest in university where I rowed in many competitive events.
I have participated in many charity events including ‘hitching' to Dublin and cycling from one English coast to another.
My previous employment includes working in industry and a theme park in New Jersey before I traveled around the world. I gained my teaching certificate from Sheffield University and was employed as a Mathematics teacher at the Minster School in Nottinghamshire, England.
I have always been involved with whole school life and I have organized and accompanied students to Paris and played regularly for the school staff football team.
As I start my second year at the British School of Chicago I am looking forward to continuing to teach the Upper School students Math and Physics.
