After completing my bachelor's degree in Zoology and my master's degree in Ecology at the University of Wales I completed fieldwork in the Caribbean and the Bialowieza forest in Poland. I trained to be a teacher at Cambridge University and my career began at a specialist science college near my hometown of Peterborough.

I have taught all three disciplines of science (physics, chemistry and biology) and am lucky to be part of a growing department here at the British school where I am also responsible for the upper school House system. I have very much enjoyed my time here in Chicago, particularly the planning of local field trips and the school’s first Science Day. I hope that the children find this year’s event even more exciting!

Outside of school I enjoy a number of activities including playing football for Belmont FC and long distance running. I hope to complete my first marathon in October, here in Chicago. I am also a keen musician and have performed in a number of bands and enjoy listening to a diverse range of music.
