I grew up in a small town in Lancashire in the North West of England. I gained a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and Post Graduate Certificate in Education from Sheffield Hallam University.

I spent the first six years of my teaching career working in inner city schools in the North West of England. During this time I had curriculum responsibility for Geography and Ecology (my previous school was awarded the Silver Flag by the Eco-Council for its environmental achievements) and Special Educational Needs. I also continued my studies during this time, completing a post-graduate certificate in teaching English as a second language.

I am now entering my third year at the British School of Chicago and I am enjoying my role as learning support teacher tremendously. I am passionate about education and like to instill a thirst for knowledge in all my pupils. I set high expectations in a caring and nurturing environment.

Outside of school I am a keen photographer, having recently completed a course in film photography. This year I also started running and was proud to have finished the Chicago half marathon with the BSC running team! I am looking forward to another rewarding year in Chicago.
