I was born and raised in Wales, UK . After I finished high school, I trained as a Therapeutic Radiographer for two years. I then decided on a change in career and joined the HSBC Bank and worked there for twelve years with two breaks to have my two children, who are now 22 and 18 years of age. In 1989 we went to Vancouver Island, Canada for a year while my husband was on a Headmaster-Exchange programme. We enjoyed that experience very much.

In 1996, I went to work for our local high school, which had 1700 pupils. After working in the General Office and assisting the Examinations Office I went to the Finance Office where the Bursar in anticipation of her retirement trained me. However my husband then applied for the post of Headmaster of the British School of Chicago and in August 2001 we left Wales to come and live in America .

I enjoy my job as Business Manager and have recently completed an accounting course at Oakton Community College. We are really making the most of the experience of living and working in Chicago .
