I moved from Farnborough, Hampshire in the South of England in August 2002 to join the staff at the British School of Chicago . I graduated from University in Southampton , in 1999, with a BA Hons QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in English and Education.

Before joining the staff in Chicago I taught in two schools in the south of England , teaching Reception, Year One and a mixed Year One/Two class. My areas of responsibility at these posts included Literacy Co-ordinator, P.E. Co-ordinator and Key Stage One manager.

I am currently in my seventh year at the British School of Chicago and I am Year Group Leader for the four Reception classes. I co-ordinate Literacy in the Foundation Stage and I am also the co-ordinator for Parental Learning Opportunities and Communication in the Foundation Department. I am the Home-School Links Co-ordinator and a member of the school management team. I organize the After School Clubs Programme and social events for staff, parents and children. As a member of the school management team, I continue to be involved in the development of the school.

During my first year at the British School of Chicago, I had curriculum responsibility for Physical Education. I organized a Sports Day for the whole school and wrote the school policy for this subject. In my second year, I joined the management team and had responsibility for Key Stage One classes. I was also responsible for the re-organisation of the school library. During my time at the school, I have taught Year One, Nursery and Reception.
