I was born and raised in a small town outside Glasgow, in Scotland. I studied at the University of Edinburgh and graduated in 2000, with a Bachelor of Education degree.

Before joining the British School of Chicago in 2003, I taught Reception and Year One in a very well established city school in Edinburgh. During this time, I was responsible for developing Art and Literacy throughout the school. I also participated in a series of educational broadcasts on a Scottish radio station, discussing Early Years education. I have spent many summers working at a large children's camp in New York State where I carried out positions of 'Art and Theatre Specialist' and 'Group Leader'.

I have presently been at the British School for five years. During this time, I have had curriculum responsibility for Literacy and Art and Design and have enjoyed organizing whole school events such as 'Book Week' and 'Art Attack'.
This year, I am excited to have responsibility for Religious and Cultural Festivals across all key stages. I aim to carry out fun, interesting and learning-focused assemblies and invite a range of different visitors from the community into school to talk with the children.

Having worked in Nursery, Reception and Year One at BSC, I am thrilled to be in Year Two. I am keen to observe and reflect on how a child’s learning experiences in the Early Years forms the foundation of their learning in consequent key stages. I certainly am very excited to share the learning journey with the Dynamic Dinosaurs this year.
I am very proud of the growth and success of the British School of Chicago. I look forward to being part of this excellent place of learning for many years to come!
